So What's the Deal Anyway?

Is it just me or are there more crimes against kids? It is rare to tuen on a TV news program and not hear the story of a child that has been neglected, murdered, kidnapped, sold or tortured. TV shows show the drama of kids lives now. Human trafficking goes on daily in this country and young kids are coerced into lives filled with being nothing more than a slave. Yes, a slave. Equality in race and gender may be an acceptible cause, but discussing the rights of a 15 year old girl who is picked up for prostitution comes with a need for a change in perspective. This child is a minor. She got into this be way of a very manipulative adult who made her think she was loved above all others. Treating a child who has beentaught to rely on prostitution and secrecy to ensure she is loved is not easily understood by most adults in power. Police officers book the kids for a crime when in fact they are victims of crimes. Switch perspective. See the innocence that has been stolen. Look closely at the next young person that shows up at your door selling magazines. Ask them. In order for them to escape a life od servitude and slavery, all they may need is someone to ask them...do you need help?
